This week it’s all about @alldressedupbutnowheretogo.
Her clean and persistent design aesthetic is the first thing that makes @alldressedupbutnowheretogo stand out amongst other ShopLook users. Editorial elements and inspirational photography provide the backdrop for the streamlined fashion essentials throughout her feed. At first glance, the outfits in her feed may appear to be strikingly similar. But when you look more closely within each of those simple black frames, you'll see the product of careful curation that makes each design immediately distinguishable.
We’ve included our favorite @alldressedupbutnowheretogo picks along with her full Q&A below.
Favorite fashion decade?
Probably the 80’s since a lot of stuff back then is what I would totally wear now.
What is the first thing that you do when creating a new set?
I’ll go on Pinterest to find a photo I'm looking for that I would use for my sets. I’m a perfectionist, so sometimes this takes me a while. I then kind of build off from there.
You style in three words:
Edgy, Rocker, and Bold
What item from your closet could you wear with everything for an entire week?
My faux leather jacket. It’s one of my favorite things to wear in general. That with a pair of black combat boots, ripped jeans, and a graphic tee is my go-to outfit.
Something that you would never wear?
Poofy skirts, frilly tops, pink bows, etc. Even though I’m a woman I don’t like wearing overly feminine clothes. That’s just not for me.
Something you would love to wear but haven’t?
I would LOVE to wear some stuff from designers like Alexander Wang, but my wallet is against that.
Any advice for users looking to improve their creative process?
If I had any advice, it would be to be original. Come up with your own unique ideas. Also try different formatting styles that go well with what you’re trying to create. Little but important aspects like these will make other users recognize your set style. But most importantly, have fun with it!
What is your iPhone wallpaper?
Snoopy ringing a bell in a Santa outfit; when I was little, I constantly replayed the scene from “It's Christmas Again Charlie Brown” where Snoopy wears a Santa suit while honking a horn at Lucy and Linus. I mean it when I say I replayed that part religiously.
Which album could you listen to on repeat for a week straight?
Probably ‘Moral Panic’ by Nothing but Thieves. I like alternative rock, so that’s an album I definitely don’t mind replaying over and over again.
Any recent purchases that you absolutely love?
I just recently bought this grey denim trucker jacket from Forever 21 online. Bought TONS of stuff from there since there’s this huge sale going on. I have yet to receive it and try it on, but I’m excited to.
Fashion trends you once embraced but now make you cringe?
Wearing Aeropostale when I was like 12. I know I was just a kid then, but don’t like wearing clothes that are bright or have name brand prints on them. That kind of style especially didn’t look flattering with my braces too.
What is your dream job?
While I love fashion, my dream job has always been wanting to do something with animals. Maybe like a Wildlife Biologist, a Rehabilitator, or Photographer.
How long have you been creating on ShopLook?
I’ve been creating outfits since 2015, actually. It’s only this earlier January I started to create outfits and sets publicly.
Something that others might not know about you?
My older sister calls me “Bop Bop Bop”. There’s an old family video of me when I was like four chanting ‘bop bop bop’ along with the song Unskinny Boy by Poison.
What makes a “great” set?
Originality. Anything that looks different yet stands out and well organized is what in my opinion makes a great set.
Such a insipring interview! We definitely have different style and I adore it, you're making me rethink about some of my style must have :))))
