You know her as @mchelsd29 on ShopLook, but let me introduce you to Chelsea - the girl behind the username.
Her friends call her Chels and she lives in Los Angeles, CA. She’s been a ShopLook creator since 2019, and although she took a break and re-joined the community in December of 2020 - it was her love for fashion that brought her back, and we are happy to see her designs in our feeds again.
She’s a huge Hunger Games fan, which you’ll learn more about in her full Q&A below (along with a few of her favorite designs!)
If you had to listen to one album on repeat for a week, what would you pick?
That one is a super tricky one! 😫 I can't pick... probably, Evermore by Taylor Swift. But there is also Sour by Olivia Rodrigo. I CAN'T PICK!!!
What is your dream job(s)?
To have a small fashion company and be a nurse.
Describe your personal style in three words:
1. Soft
2. Casual
3. Grunge
If you had to pick one thing from your closet to wear with everything for a week, what would it be?
I would have baggy jeans, an oversized sweater, comfortable Adidas, and a baseball cap. The jeans because if it gets cold I automatically have pants. The sweater because of the same reason for the pants. You might be thinking what if we are in the middle of summer, but I don't care. The comfortable Adidas because, I'm not walking around in the grass or sand or etc. with uncomfortable shoes. And lastly, the baseball cap so that I keep the sun from burning my scalp and protecting my eyes from the sun as well.
Something that you would never wear?
Over 2in heels and platform shoes.
Something you would love to wear but haven’t had the chance:
A dress with wings and fire when you spin. Sorry, I'm the biggest Hunger Games fan so yeah. lol.
When you start a new design, what is the first thing that you place on a blank canvas?
I begin with resizing the canvas to Pinterest Pin. After that I search for a top and put it in the top left corner every time. Once all that is done it all comes together.
What is something that you (almost) always include in your sets?
I almost always include a picture. It helps fill in the blank spaces.
Do you have any favorite designs from your feed?
This was my very first win on shoplook. This design helped me find my way of laying out the outfits.
This outfit/design just gives me the jitters!! It took forever to finish that and it came out so perfectly, I love it.
Any advice for others looking to improve their creative process?
The advice I would give is don't copy other people. make your designs unique.
