ShopLook user @engi

This week we bring you another fashionable featured user from Italy. In real life she goes by Angela, but you may recognize her by her username @engi. Her designs are always clean and outfit-focused, but I love the way that she still finds a way to mix it up by bringing in artwork and photography to complement the looks. Admittedly, I was immediately won over when I read her Q&A answers because she mentioned Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon album (spoiler alert, I freaking love that album.) ❤️

Check out some of our favorite @engi sets, along with her full Q&A below.

How long have you been creating outfits or designing sets? What inspired you to get started?

I actually began on Polyvore about 10 years ago and stayed there until it eventually closed down. I was lucky enough to find Shoplook soon after that and I fell in love at first sight

Give us a fun fact that people might not know about you.

I work as an educator so I'm probably expected to be really serious at all times. Actually, I feel like being sarcastic is the best way to face problems most of the time!

A countryside panorama - so peaceful!

If you had to choose only one album to listen to on repeat for a full week, what would it be?

The Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd. A real classic!

Writer.

Describe your sense of style in just three words.

Originality, comfort, elegance

Tell us about your favorite fashion decade.

1950s

Tell us about one (or more) of your style icons.

Audrey Hepburn. No one ever managed to be so elegant yet so effortless. She's been an icon for decades and I'm sure she'll keep on inspiring for decades!

If you had to choose one thing to wear with every outfit for an entire month, what would it be and why?

A Jacquemus Trapeze bag

Are there any style trends that you once tried but now make you cringe?

Shoulder pads.

Tell us about something that you would NEVER wear.

Skinny leather pants - it's just not my thing, sorry!

Tell us about something you WISH you could wear but haven't.

An evening gown - unfortunately I don't attend that many galas throughout the year ;)

Tell us about something you recently purchased and absolutely LOVE.

A velvet dress - it's my statement piece right now!

When you start creating a new set, where do you begin? Or, what's the first thing you place on that blank canvas?

I usually start with a picture that inspires me, whether it is a painting or a fashion editorial.

What is something that you (almost) always include in your sets?

Bags!

What do all of your favorite sets from your feed have in common?

I can see the creative process behind them, and there's a clear need to create something unique and original

For others looking to improve their creative process, what is your best piece of advice?

Keep on searching for things that inspire you! Start from a picture you love and find similar things!

Do you have any favorite ShopLook users that you love to follow, or that inspire your creativity? Tell us about them!

@Looksbylyla // I love the way she fills the frame, and her accessories are always so amazing!
@Debbiecastle // Her sets are always so classy and elegant, she's so effortlessly chic
